About this model
Despite its name, this is a full sailing ship: a galleon with tall masts, rigging, a raised stern and a dark wooden hull. It is enormous, about 31.5 ft wide, 123 ft long and 107 ft tall to the mastheads, stretching across roughly six by twenty-five squares.
Use it as the centrepiece of a harbour, a naval battle, a pirate raid or a shipwreck on a beach. A ship this size sets the whole scene, and tokens can fight along its decks and rails. Its masts and rigging invite climbing, its sides give cover, and its sheer bulk blocks sight across the docks.
Ideas for the table
- Pirates board the galleon at dawn, and the party must hold the quarterdeck until the captain wakes.
- A ghost ship drifts into harbour with no crew, its sails still full in a dead calm.
- The party must sneak aboard a docked warship to free prisoners held below decks before it sails.
