About this model
A simple round wooden plate with a raised rim and a light, worn surface. It is about 1 ft across and nearly flat, sized for a table setting. Faint knife scratches cross its centre, and the rim is darker where it has been handled.
Lay them on tavern tables, at a farmhouse supper, in a monastery refectory or at a camp meal. They make a room look occupied and a meal look real. A plate can be used as an improvised shield or frisbee in a comic brawl. Stack several on a sideboard for a busy kitchen, or leave one alone on a table for a lonelier scene. Players notice when a plate is set for someone who is not there.
Ideas for the table
- Plates are set for six at a deserted farmhouse, and the food is still warm.
- A half-eaten meal left on a wooden plate gives the party a clue about who fled the inn.
- Brawling dwarves start hurling plates across the hall during a feast.
