About this model
A sturdy wooden chest with a hinged lid, dark iron hardware and a small hasp at the front, its timber stained a warm brown. It is about 2 ft wide, 4 ft long and 1.5 ft tall, nearly a full square. The lid fits snugly and the corners are reinforced.
Use it as a footlocker in a barracks, a sea chest on a ship, a merchant's strongbox or a supply store. It is big enough for a halfling to hide in and solid enough to give low cover. Locks and hasps make it a natural lock-picking challenge.
Ideas for the table
- A sailor's sea chest holds a logbook revealing the true location of the sunken treasure.
- A gnome hides inside a chest in the guardroom and needs the party to carry it out.
- Cultists pile chests against the temple door, buying time to finish their ritual.
