About this model
A thick rectangular cutting board of joined wood strips, worn and stained from years of knife work. It is about 1.5 ft by 1 ft and almost flat, sized for a table or a counter. Darker stripes of timber alternate with paler ones across its face.
Put it on a tavern kitchen counter, a butcher's block, a camp cook's table or a wizard's reagent bench. It adds believable detail to a working kitchen. In play it can hold a clue, a half-chopped ingredient or a knife that becomes a weapon. Pair it with bowls and a lantern to dress a cook's corner quickly.
Ideas for the table
- A kitchen knife missing from the cutting board turns up later in the victim's room.
- A cook chopping mushrooms on a board is unknowingly preparing a poisonous variety.
- Strange runes are scratched into the underside of the inn's cutting board.
