The Weary Traveller
A candlelit tavern: bar, hearth, tables, a stranger in the corner.

The place
Setting: Dusk, fog rolling in over a muddy yard
Every campaign starts in a tavern, and this one is ready before the players have finished ordering. A timber-walled inn with a plank floor, a stone hearth with a real fire, long tables and benches, a bar with barrels behind it, and a yard outside with a well, a cart and the road leading in.
What the recipe places
- 5 floor and road ops
- 11 wall runs
- 56 props, lines and scatters
- 12 lights and effects
- 6 miniatures

Encounters it was built for
- A bar brawl: the tables are obstacles, the benches are improvised weapons, and the hearth is a hazard.
- A meeting with a patron in the corner booth while the party watches the door.
- An assassin through the window: the sightlines from the yard matter, and the ruler measures them.
Tips
- Switch the environment preset to night and the candles do the lighting.
- Use the room tool with the Tavern kit to add a back room or an upstairs landing.
- Drag a character in from the shelf and it arrives as a miniature with a base and a name.
