About this model
A large, angular boulder of grey stone streaked with moss, with a sloping top and a rough flank. It looks heavy and weathered. The rock is about 6.5 ft wide, 5 ft deep and 4.5 ft tall, a bit more than one square and high enough to hide a crouching person.
Use it to anchor forest clearings, hill paths and river crossings. At this size it blocks sight for a Medium creature ducking behind it and offers a solid climbing spot. It works well at the edge of a map as a natural barrier.
Ideas for the table
- An owlbear lurks behind the boulder, waiting for prey to come down the path.
- A sniper perched on top of the boulder pins the party down on the riverbank.
- Moss on one side of the boulder has been scraped away, revealing a carved arrow pointing north.
