About this model
A blocky, upright boulder of grey stone with moss growing over its top and sides. It looks like a fragment of a cliff that fell long ago. The rock is about 7 ft wide, 4 ft deep and 4 ft tall, roughly one and a half squares in footprint.
Place it in woods, glens, hill country and overgrown ruins. It gives solid cover to a character crouched behind it and makes a good standing spot for someone who wants height. Several of these together form a natural defensive line. Its flat top is broad enough for a single figure to stand on.
Ideas for the table
- The party defends a narrow glen using the boulders as cover against a charge of orcs.
- A standing stone has toppled and lies mossy among the other rocks, still humming with old magic.
- A hermit's cache is hidden in a hollow beneath the largest boulder.
