About this model
A compact, scrubby shrub with short woody stems and a few clusters of brownish green leaves. It looks hardy and stunted, like a plant in poor soil. The shrub is about 3.5 ft wide and deep, under one square, and 4 ft tall.
Place it in dry hills, coastal heath, rocky passes and abandoned courtyards. It provides scant concealment and adds variety to the vegetation of a wild map. Several together read as tough scrub that survives where little else grows. Its small size makes it easy to scatter between larger rocks without crowding the grid. Place several along a dry streambed to suggest where water once ran.
Ideas for the table
- A lone shrub on the ridge is the only cover for the party during a dragon's flyover.
- Scorch marks on the stunted shrub point to a fire elemental passing this way.
- A buried waystone lies beneath the roots of the shrub, its runes worn faint.
