About this model
A bushy shrub with several stems bearing yellow-green leaves and tall brown seed spikes. It looks full and wild. The plant is about half a foot wide and 1 ft tall in its listed footprint, small on the grid.
Scatter it through meadows, woodland edges and abandoned farmland. It suits late summer scenes where the vegetation has gone to seed. In play it is ground dressing that gives a map more natural variety. Put a few around a deserted farmstead or along the edge of a ploughed field to show the harvest is overdue. Scattered among tall grass and nettles, it fills in the middle height of a wild border so the vegetation does not look flat.
Ideas for the table
- A hedge witch gathers the seed spikes for a potion that lets the drinker understand birds.
- Brushing against the shrub releases a cloud of seeds that makes everyone nearby sneeze.
- The seed spikes point the same direction across the field, towards a hidden fairy ring.
