About this model
A wide scatter of small stones and pebbles over a patch of dry, sandy ground. It looks like rubble or a gravel bed. The patch is about 15 ft by 13 ft, roughly three squares by three, and only about 2 ft high at its tallest point.
Use it to mark rough ground in a riverbed, a quarry, a collapsed tunnel or a battlefield. A DM can treat it as difficult terrain or simply as uneven footing. It breaks up a flat ground texture quickly and makes a scene look weathered.
Ideas for the table
- Loose stones crunch underfoot, making it hard to sneak across the dry riverbed.
- A rockfall has left this scatter of rubble blocking half the mountain road.
- Something has been digging through the gravel at night, searching for a buried relic.
