About this model
A long, flat, exposed tree root, dark and fibrous, running like a twisted rail across the ground. It stretches about 6 ft long and 2 ft wide but rises only half a foot, so it spans just over a square without blocking sight.
Lay it across forest paths, riverbanks and the floor of a cave beneath an ancient tree. It makes woodland ground feel old and uneven. At the table a DM can call the area around it tricky footing, a trip hazard during a chase, or a natural seam where something small could be tucked away.
Ideas for the table
- A running fight through the woods sends a fleeing cultist sprawling over a root, giving the party a chance to catch up.
- A thick root coils across the doorway of a druid grove, and touching it wakes the guardian tree.
- Under a raised root the party finds a sealed jar that a lost child buried before she went missing.

A projector aimed down at the table skips the size limit of a TV. Mounting height and throw distance, keeping the room dim without losing character sheets, and the mat it needs underneath.
