About this model
A pale limestone block with crisp broken faces and patches of light grey, looking freshly split rather than smoothed by water. It is about half a foot across, a small piece that sits inside one square. Chalky dust still clings to its edges.
Drop it beside a quarry, a collapsed wall or a mining tunnel where broken stone would naturally collect. It fits dwarven holds and building sites as well as wild hillsides. At the table it is clutter that tells a story: something cracked this rock recently, and players will want to know what.
Ideas for the table
- Fresh chips of limestone around a tunnel mouth show the miners broke into something they should not have.
- An earth elemental uses loose blocks of stone like this as projectiles during the fight in the quarry.
- A broken stone carries half of a carved rune, and the other half is somewhere in the collapsed shrine.
