About this model
A large, rounded sandstone boulder with pale buff surfaces worn smooth by wind and water. At roughly 8.5 ft by 8 ft and 6.5 ft tall, it fills almost a two by two square block and stands taller than most humanoids.
This is a landmark rock for open plains, desert edges and dry riverbeds. In play it blocks line of sight completely for medium creatures and gives full cover to anyone pressed against its far side. A nimble character can climb it for high ground, and a big creature might shove it downhill. Place it alone to anchor a scene, or as a meeting point the players will remember.
Ideas for the table
- A wyvern nests on top of a huge sandstone boulder in the middle of a dry valley.
- Two caravans have agreed to trade beside a lone boulder, and the party must keep the peace when one side brings hidden crossbows.
- A cave entrance lies hidden under the overhang on the boulder's shaded north side.
