About this model
An upright shrub with dense clusters of grey-green leaves on slender branches. It stands about 6.5 ft tall and spreads 5 ft each way, roughly a square of ground at head height.
Place it in dry woodland, along riverbanks or around a farmhouse. It provides partial cover and a reasonable hiding place for a medium creature, and a line of these makes a natural screen. Combined with rocks, it builds up a convincing hillside where ranged attackers have to choose their angles carefully. Because the foliage is see-through in places, a DM can rule that a creature behind it is lightly obscured rather than fully hidden.
Ideas for the table
- A hidden archer fires from behind tall shrubs on the far side of the river.
- The party uses a line of shrubs as cover while sneaking up on a bandit lookout.
- An awakened shrub joins the defenders of a druid circle when the party arrives with axes.
