About this model
A small upright shrub with sparse, dark curled leaves on thin stems, looking thirsty and half dead. It is about 1.5 ft across and 2 ft high, filling a corner of one square.
It fits the edges of roads, ruined courtyards, graveyards and arid wilderness. Alone it is too small for cover, but it helps make an outdoor map read as neglected or harsh. Group a few around a ruined wall or a dried-up well to imply that the place has been abandoned for a long time. It also looks right beside a roadside shrine or a gibbet.
Ideas for the table
- Withered bushes ring an abandoned well where something still moves far below.
- A graveyard's dying shrubs hide a ghoul crouching low among the headstones.
- The herbalist pays the party to find the last living bloom on these dry bushes before winter.
