About this model
A red and white ring lifebuoy with a rope looped round its rim, scuffed from weather. It is about 2.5 ft across and 3 ft tall as it hangs, half a foot thick. The rope gives something to grab. A few hung along a pier also help show where the walkway edge is, and a missing one from its hook can be a quiet clue that someone went into the water.
Hang it on docks, ships, piers and lakeside walkways. It is dressing that says water is close. In play, someone can throw it to a person who has fallen in, which makes it a useful prop during a fight near the water's edge.
Ideas for the table
- A guard falls into the harbour and the party has one lifebuoy to save him or the cargo.
- The lifebuoy bears the name of a ship that sank twenty years ago.
- A smuggler's message is hidden inside the lifebuoy's foam.
