About this model
A tall, slender aspen with a pale trunk and a crown of bright yellow autumn leaves. It is about 18 ft by 15.5 ft and 30 ft tall, covering roughly three squares by three. The trunk is pale and smooth with dark marks, and the gold leaves glow against a grey sky.
Plant several together in a mountain valley, a riverside stand or a fey glade to bring autumn colour to the map. Their slender trunks give partial cover. The bright canopy makes for a vivid backdrop to a dramatic scene. They look best planted in groups, since aspens grow in clonal stands. Fallen leaves in your description muffle footsteps.
Ideas for the table
- A grove of golden aspens whispers names in the wind, including one belonging to a party member.
- A dragon circling overhead spots the party through the gaps in the aspen canopy.
- Hunters stalk deer through an aspen grove, unaware they are being stalked themselves.
