About this model
A broad old stump gone soft with age, its top rounded and patched with moss and lichen, its sides blending into the soil. It measures about 4.5 ft by 5 ft and stands 2 ft high, one full square.
Put it in a felled clearing, a woodcutters' camp, a mossy glade or by a hermit's hut. It is a natural seat for an NPC, a place for a druid to commune, or half cover for a crouching rogue. Players can climb onto it for a slightly better view of the clearing.
Ideas for the table
- A talking toad sitting on a mossy stump offers directions in exchange for a riddle.
- Woodcutters refuse to clear this stump, saying the last one who tried never came home.
- The stump is hollow, and a ranger's hidden supply cache waits inside under a loose piece of bark.
