About this model
A claw-headed hammer with a dark steel head and a long wooden handle, worn smooth from use. It is a plain working tool, about 1 ft long and very slim.
Put it on a carpenter's bench, beside a broken crate in a warehouse, in a blacksmith's shop or near a half-built scaffold. It is set dressing that tells the players what the place is for, and it can also be an improvised weapon or the tool needed to pry open a nailed crate. Found in the wrong place, it can be evidence.
Ideas for the table
- A hammer left next to a freshly nailed coffin lid suggests the body was sealed in quickly.
- The party needs a hammer to free a stuck lever, and the only one is on the far side of a goblin camp.
- The carpenter swears his hammer was stolen the night before the murder.
