About this model
A low lacquered wooden sword stand in dark red, with two upright arms shaped to cradle a blade. It is a simple, elegant piece made for display. The stand is about 1 ft long and only half a foot tall, a small object that sits on a table, shelf or floor mat.
Place it in a dojo, a noble's reception room, a shrine or the quarters of a duellist. It shows where something precious is kept, which makes an empty stand just as interesting as a full one. In a heist or mystery, the stand marks the spot the sword was taken from.
Ideas for the table
- The sword stand is empty when the party arrives, and the master of the house is furious.
- Lifting the blade from the stand without bowing first triggers a ward in the shrine.
- Two duellists place their swords on the same stand before talks begin, and someone swaps one of the blades.
