About this model
A rustic glazed earthenware pot with a lid, two lug handles and a speckled brown and cream finish. It is about 2 ft wide, 1.5 ft deep and a foot tall, a squat storage vessel.
It suits farmhouse kitchens, pantries, market stalls and peasant homes. On the grid it is clutter, but it can hide food, coins or a sleeping snake. A few of these by a hearth help a cottage feel homely. In a dungeon storeroom they suggest the inhabitants have supplies and plan to stay a while. It sits nicely on a shelf or the floor.
Ideas for the table
- A farmer's wife keeps her savings hidden in the lidded pot by the hearth.
- Bandits stored pickled rations in these pots, and one now contains a very angry viper.
- An apprentice brews a botched potion in a clay pot and it begins to bubble over.
