About this model
A large section of rock face with mossy patches, rough layered strata and an uneven top. It is about 27 ft wide, 14.5 ft deep and 16.5 ft tall, so it spans roughly five by three squares and rises well above head height.
Use it to edge a map, form a ravine wall or create a raised plateau. Climbing it is a real challenge for characters without gear, and it blocks line of sight completely. Put a ledge or a cave behind it and players get a reason to scale the rock, while enemies above enjoy a commanding view.
Ideas for the table
- Harpies nest on top of a mossy rock face and dive at anyone trying to climb it.
- A narrow ledge halfway up the cliff hides the entrance to a smugglers' cave.
- The party is trapped at the foot of the rock face while a rockslide begins above them.
