About this model
A plain household push broom with a long pale wooden handle and a short stiff-bristled head. It stands about 5 ft tall when leaned against a wall and is only a few inches thick, so it takes up almost no floor space.
Lean it beside a tavern door, in a kitchen corner, in a stable or at the back of a shop. It is everyday clutter that makes an interior look used rather than staged. In play it can be an improvised quarterstaff, a clue that someone tidied away evidence, or a comic prop for a witch who flies on something less traditional.
Ideas for the table
- Someone has swept the inn's cellar floor suspiciously clean, and the broom leaning by the stairs still has blood on its bristles.
- A hedge witch's animated broom keeps sweeping the party out of her cottage until they state their business.
- During a tavern fight the barkeep grabs the broom and starts jabbing at a drunk dwarf.
