About this model
A neat row of matching leather-bound volumes standing upright, spines in tan and brown with gilt bands. It looks like a single set of encyclopaedias or legal records. The row is about 2 ft long, half a foot deep and a foot tall, small enough to sit on a shelf, desk or table.
Use it to dress libraries, wizards' studies, scriptoria and noble offices. It is clutter rather than cover, but it is ideal for clue hunting: the DM can tell players one volume is out of place or missing. Several sets along a long table make a scholar's reading room feel lived in without much effort.
Ideas for the table
- One book in the set is a hollow box containing the cult's membership ledger.
- A mimic disguised as a row of books waits on a library desk for someone to reach for a volume.
- The party has one hour in a rival wizard's study to find which of these volumes holds the teleportation circle's sigil.
