Stone Road Floor, a floor tiles and ground surfaces 3D model for D&D battle maps

About this model

A grey road surface of fitted stones worn smooth and dusty, with subtle variation in tone. It looks like an old paved highway or a city street. One tile covers a single 5 ft square and lies flat. Lining the edges with mud, gravel or patchy grass shows how far the road has crumbled from its best days.

Use it for imperial roads, town streets, bridges, plazas and gateways. Laid in long strips across grass or sand, it guides the eye and tells players which way civilisation lies. It is firm, open ground with no cover, which makes it the obvious place for an ambush from the verges.

Ideas for the table

  • Highwaymen block an old paved road with a fallen log at the narrowest point between two hills.
  • A stone street in the merchant quarter becomes a running battle when a carriage horse bolts.
  • An ancient road leads into a lake and continues on the far shore, and the party wants to know why.
