Cave Floor, a floor tiles and ground surfaces 3D model for D&D battle maps

About this model

A floor tile of rough grey stone with an uneven, mottled texture. It is 5 ft by 5 ft, one grid square, and lies flat on the ground. Its grey surface is lumpy and cracked, with darker patches in the hollows.

Use it to pave caves, mines, underground tunnels and rocky lairs. It gives the ground a natural, uneven look. Combine it with cave walls for a complete underground scene. It drapes over the terrain so the cave floor follows the slope of the ground. Pair it with dark cave walls and a single lantern for a tense crawl, since the light casts real shadows across the rock. Cover large areas with it quickly to make an open cavern.

Ideas for the table

  • A cave floor slick with water makes footing treacherous during a fight with troglodytes.
  • Bones scattered across the cave floor show where a beast drags its prey.
  • The party follows tracks across the cave floor to a dragon's lair.
