About this model
A pale sand surface in warm cream and tan, finely grained with soft ripples. It looks like a beach or a desert flat on a calm day. Each tile covers a single 5 ft square and lies flat.
Use it for beaches, desert camps, arenas, dried riverbeds and the floors of sunken tombs. A wide spread of sand feels hot and empty, and small objects placed on it stand out sharply. Deep, soft sand is often ruled difficult terrain, and it is a natural place for things to burrow underneath and surface without warning.
Ideas for the table
- A bulette tunnels beneath an arena's sand while gladiators fight above.
- Shipwreck survivors defend a beach from crab folk at low tide.
- The entrance to a desert tomb is buried under drifting sand that the party must dig out before the storm returns.
