About this model
A long, slightly curved sabre with a narrow steel blade and a simple hilt. It looks like a cavalry weapon. The blade is about 3 ft long and very slim.
Place it on an armoury rack, on a captain's desk, hanging above a fireplace or on the deck of a pirate ship. It suggests soldiers, duellists and sailors. As a prop it can be a reward, a family heirloom or a clue to who was present. Laid across a table it suggests a parley; left on the floor it suggests a fight that went badly. Mounted with a pair of crossed blades, it gives a fencing school or officers' mess its character.
Ideas for the table
- The sabre above the fireplace belonged to the general who betrayed the city.
- A duellist challenges a party member and offers the sabre as the prize.
- A pirate captain's sabre found on a beach means the ship went down nearby.
