About this model
A thin wall section with an arched gateway through its middle and battlements on top. It is about 9 ft thick, 25 ft long and 29 ft tall, with a passage wide enough for people and a cart.
This is the way in and out of a fort, so every siege or infiltration will centre on it. Defenders on top can shoot down at anyone passing through, and the narrow arch makes a natural choke point. Add a portcullis or a gate door to make breaking in a real goal.
Ideas for the table
- The party must hold the gate arch against a horde while the villagers flee into the fort.
- Disguised as merchants, the party bluffs its way through the gate past suspicious guards.
- A battering ram hammers at the gate while defenders pour boiling oil from above.
