About this model
A long straight run of thick fortress wall with a walkway and crenellated parapet, built of rough stone. It is about 14.5 ft thick, 50 ft long and 29.5 ft tall, ten squares in length.
This is the main building block of a castle curtain wall. It is impassable without ladders, ropes or a breach, and defenders on top have high ground and cover behind the battlements. Lay several end to end to wall in a courtyard or a town. Its thickness gives enough room on top for defenders to pass each other, which matters in a long siege where troops rotate along the wall.
Ideas for the table
- Siege ladders slam against the wall as the party defends the parapet.
- A spy must climb the wall at night while the guards change shifts.
- A rockslide has collapsed a section of the wall, leaving a breach the party must fill.
