About this model
A black iron cannon on a wooden carriage with small solid wheels, the classic muzzle-loading gun of a ship's deck or a coastal fort. It measures about 4 ft wide and 7.5 ft long with a height of 3 ft, covering roughly one by two squares.
Use it on pirate ships, harbour batteries, fortress walls and gunpowder-age settings. It gives half cover to someone crouched behind the carriage. In a fight, players will want to load and fire it, so decide in advance how you will handle it at the table. A row of them along a rampart makes a strong defensive line.
Ideas for the table
- Pirates haul a cannon onto the beach to bombard the party's fortified camp.
- The party must load and fire the fort's last cannon to sink the ship sailing into the harbour.
- A goblin crew has packed the cannon with too much powder, and it is about to explode.
