About this model
A tall, narrow pine with a long bare lower trunk and a dark green spire of needles above. It spreads about 17.5 ft by 19.5 ft, roughly four squares, and reaches about 38.5 ft high.
It suits old-growth forests, mountain valleys and the edges of high fortresses. Because so much of the trunk is bare, ground fighters can see between the trees while archers in the crowns are hard to reach. Mix it with shorter pines to give a forest depth and to suggest an old wood that has stood for centuries.
Ideas for the table
- Giant spiders string webs between the high crowns of an old-growth pine forest.
- A druid has climbed the tallest pine to watch for the returning dragon and will not come down.
- A treant stands among towering pines, and the party only notices when it steps forward.
