About this model
A low, spreading fern with fronds of fresh green leaves fanning out from a central crown. It looks healthy and natural. The plant is about 2 ft across and 1 ft tall, a small clump that fits inside one square.
Scatter it through a forest floor, a damp cave mouth, a garden or a jungle clearing. Ferns soften the edges of paths and rocks and make the ground look lived in by nature. They do not block much, but a dense patch suits a hidden snake, a dropped item or a small creature crouching low.
Ideas for the table
- A pixie hides among the ferns and only shows herself if the party leaves an offering of honey.
- The ranger notices the ferns have been flattened by something heavy dragging past.
- Poisonous spiders nest beneath the ferns at the edge of the clearing.
