About this model
A flight of flagstone steps rising in five even treads to a top landing. It is 5 ft by 5 ft and 5 ft tall, one grid square. Each tread is about a foot high, carved from the same mottled stone as the matching floor.
Use it to connect levels in castles, temples, dungeons and terraces. Stairs make a natural choke point. Defenders at the top have the advantage. They rise a full 5 ft, enough to climb onto a raised platform, a wall walk or a mezzanine. Put a pair side by side for a grand stairway. A character standing on the top step looks down on everyone below, and a single defender can hold the stairs against several.
Ideas for the table
- Guards hold the stairs leading to the tower.
- A trap triggers on the stairs, turning them into a slide.
- A ghost descends the stairs every night at midnight.
