About this model
An A-frame stepladder made of grey weathered wood, with flat rungs and a hinged top. It is about 3 ft wide, 1.5 ft deep and 4.5 ft high, standing in one square. One rung is lighter than the others, perhaps a later repair.
Use it in a library, a barn, a workshop, a painter's studio or a storeroom with high shelves. It lets characters reach higher shelves or a loft hatch. In a fight it is something to climb for a better angle, or something to kick over under a careless foe. Its splayed legs need a flat spot, so set it on level ground.
Ideas for the table
- A thief balances on the stepladder in the library, reaching for a book on the top shelf.
- Knocking the stepladder from under a goblin sends it sprawling into a stack of crates.
- A painter left the ladder under a ceiling hatch, which leads to a hidden attic room.
