About this model
A tall, narrow straight ladder with dark side rails and close rungs, built for leaning against walls. It stands about 7 ft tall, 2 ft wide and half a foot deep, taking one square when propped up. The rails look heavy enough to bear an armoured climber.
Put it against a hayloft, a city wall, a ship's mast or a well shaft. It lets players reach rooftops and upper floors on the battle map. A ladder is a choke point in a fight: only one figure climbs at a time, and someone at the top can push it away.
Ideas for the table
- Thieves lean a ladder against the manor's second-floor window while the party keeps watch below.
- Defenders on the palisade push siege ladders away as orcs scramble up.
- A ladder leads down into a sewer shaft, and something below is climbing up to meet the party.
