About this model
A glowing surface of molten rock in reds and oranges, broken by darker cooling crust. It looks hot and liquid, with bright seams running between cracked plates. A single tile fills a 5 ft square and sits flat on the terrain.
Lay it down for volcanic caverns, fire elemental planes, the forge halls of fire giants or a dragon's lair. A few tiles in a channel make a moat, and a wide field of it turns every stepping stone into a decision. It is a hazard rather than ground to walk on, and the threat of being shoved into it makes push effects very attractive.
Ideas for the table
- A red dragon's cultists hold a stone bridge over a river of lava while the heat warps the air.
- A fire giant's forge floor has lava channels that open and close as bellows are worked.
- The party must cross a cooling lava field using crust that holds only one creature at a time.
