About this model
A framed oil painting in an ornate gold frame showing a town or harbour scene with buildings and a bright sky. The frame is heavy and carved. The picture is about 2 ft wide and 2.5 ft tall, slightly taller than wide.
Hang it in a noble's gallery, a merchant's counting house, a museum or a grand staircase. As a prop it is a valuable to steal, a forgery to expose or a clue painted with hidden details. On the map it sits on a wall and does not affect movement, but it can draw the players into a room.
Ideas for the table
- An art thief hires the party to swap this painting for a copy during the masquerade.
- The town in the painting has a tower that no longer exists, and an old scholar knows why.
- A peephole behind the painted harbour lets someone watch the room from the corridor beyond.
