About this model
A wrought iron gate made of dark vertical bars with a decorative crest along the top, set in a heavy frame. The metal looks old and slightly worn. It is about 9.5 ft wide, almost two squares, under half a foot thick, and roughly 9.5 ft high.
Put it at the entrance to a cemetery, a manor courtyard, a prison yard or the mouth of a dungeon passage. The bars block movement but not sight, so archers and spellcasters can still trade attacks through it. A locked gate gives the rogue something to do while the rest of the party keeps watch.
Ideas for the table
- The cemetery gate is locked from the inside, and something is rattling the bars.
- Guards on the far side of the gate taunt the party through the bars while a portcullis lowers behind them.
- The crest on the gate matches a signet ring the party found on a dead courier.
