About this model
A large corner piece of fortress wall in pale, rough-cut stone, built thick enough to carry a walkway along its top. The footprint is about 25 ft by 25 ft, five squares in each direction, and it stands around 24.5 ft high, so it reads as a solid angle bastion rather than a thin screen.
Place it where two runs of curtain wall meet to turn a corner of a castle, citadel or frontier fort. Defenders on top get a wide view along both arms of the wall, while attackers at the foot have nowhere to hide from them. The mass of stone also makes a good anchor point for siege battles, ladders and grappling hooks.
Ideas for the table
- Two rival sentries meet on this corner each night, and the party must bribe one before the other raises the alarm.
- An ogre is trying to pull stones out of the base of the corner to open a gap for its warband.
- A cracked flagstone on the corner hides a narrow stair down into the wall, where smugglers stash their goods.
