Ocean Buoy, a props and clutter 3D model for D&D battle maps

About this model

A red navigation buoy with an open lattice tower on top of a rounded float, the kind that marks a channel at sea. It is about 3.5 ft by 3 ft at the base and stands 8.5 ft tall. The paint is bright red so it shows against the water.

Place it in harbours, coastal waters and river mouths. It is a landmark for sea maps, a place to steer around or meet at. Characters can cling to it after a shipwreck or use its tower as a high perch.

Ideas for the table

  • Survivors cling to the buoy as the tide rises.
  • Smugglers tie their cargo to the buoy for a night pick-up.
  • A sea creature has wrapped itself around the buoy and waits for passing boats.
