About this model
A long brown wooden military crate with metal edging, straps and handles. It is sturdy and scuffed, the kind used for rifles or equipment. It measures about 4 ft by 1.5 ft and 1.5 ft high. The wood is dark with age and the metal fittings are scratched. A row of these lined up along a wall shows a well stocked depot, and a single crate set apart looks like something being prepared for transport, which players often want to investigate.
Place it in armouries, vehicles, hangars and supply dumps. It gives low cover and adds weight to a room full of gear. Players will want to open it, so decide what is inside.
Ideas for the table
- The rifle crate is full of rocks, and someone has sold the guns.
- Two soldiers carry the crate between them, and the party needs it intact.
- A stowaway is hiding inside the long crate.
