About this model
A preset crossarm for a utility pole with paired dark beams, multiple insulators and wire connections. It looks like a typical overhead power line fitting. It is about 4 ft wide, 3 ft deep and 1.5 ft tall, inside one square.
Use it to top poles along a road, a railway or an industrial estate. It is atmosphere rather than cover. Combine with other pole fittings to make a convincing line of poles. Set at regular intervals, the poles give a long road a sense of scale and distance. A broken insulator or a dangling cable hints that the area has been abandoned or damaged.
Ideas for the table
- Kids climb the pole to retrieve a kite tangled in the crossarm.
- A blackout spreads across town after someone cuts the wires at the crossarm.
- The party hangs a lantern from the crossarm to signal a smuggler's boat.
