About this model
An offset crossarm assembly for a utility pole, with dark beams set to one side, ceramic insulators and loops of cable. It suggests a pole where the lines change direction. It spans about 4 by 3 ft and is 1.5 ft tall, within one square.
Use it on a street corner or rural lane where power lines turn. It is set dressing that adds realism to a modern map. In a storm, sparks and dangling wires make a striking hazard. Mix it with straight crossarms so a pole line follows the shape of a road. Climbers can stand on the beams briefly.
Ideas for the table
- A crow nests in the offset crossarm and drops shiny objects stolen from the town.
- A sniper climbs the pole to use the crossarm as a perch.
- Crackling wires from the offset arm spark a fire in a dry field.
