About this model
A curved wooden bar counter with a tall beam frame above it, a row of stools along the front and barrels and mugs behind. The dark wood looks well used. It is about 6.5 ft wide, 15 ft long and 7.5 ft tall, three squares long.
This is the heart of any tavern, inn or guild hall. It is where the party meets the barkeep, hears rumours and starts trouble. In a brawl the counter gives solid cover to anyone ducking behind it, and the stools and mugs become improvised weapons. Lights hung from the beam cast warm shadows across the room.
Ideas for the table
- A brawl starts at the bar when a dwarf accuses an elf of drinking his ale.
- The barkeep slides a key across the counter, and the party realises it opens the cellar where the missing girl is.
- Assassins disguised as drinkers wait at the bar for the party's contact to arrive.
