About this model
A rusty steel drum with a ring of grime and corrosion around its base, open at the top and dented at the sides. It looks like an oil barrel turned into a makeshift fire pit. The drum is about 2 ft across and 3 ft tall, comfortably within one square.
Put it under a bridge, in a homeless camp, a junkyard or a post-apocalyptic street. A fire burning inside makes a light source that throws shadows across the faces around it. In a fight it is light cover, and it can be kicked over to scatter burning debris.
Ideas for the table
- Survivors huddle around a burning barrel under a highway overpass and share rumours of a safe zone.
- A gang leader warms his hands at a barrel fire while waiting for a deal that is about to go wrong.
- The party tips a flaming drum down a slope to break up an advancing horde.
