About this model
A conifer with a straight trunk and dense, dark green needled boughs, tapering towards the top. It spreads about 14.5 ft by 16 ft, around three squares, and stands about 29 ft tall. Dusting the ground around them with snow tiles makes a winter map feel finished with very little effort.
Use it for mountain slopes, northern forests, snowy passes and cold coasts. A stand of pines makes a dark, close woodland with plenty of places to hide. Their low boughs offer concealment and their trunks give cover, and their height makes a lit torch beneath them feel small and exposed, which is useful at night.
Ideas for the table
- Winter wolves stalk a caravan through a snowbound pine forest.
- A ranger's lookout platform sits halfway up a tall pine above the pass.
- Lumberjacks have felled a line of pines across the road, and the ambushers are waiting behind them.
