About this model
A broad-leaved oak in full summer foliage, with a sturdy trunk and a rounded crown of green leaves. The canopy spreads about 20 ft by 21 ft, roughly four squares across, and rises about 22 ft tall.
Place it in meadows, village greens, roadside crossroads and forest edges. The trunk gives a creature full cover from one direction, and the canopy is a good perch for an archer, a kenku or a cat. A single oak is also a natural landmark, the kind of tree where people meet, hang signs or bury things, which gives you easy hooks for a scene.
Ideas for the table
- Highwaymen wait in the branches of a crossroads oak for the tax wagon.
- A dryad bound to a lone oak asks the party to stop a woodcutter's crew arriving at noon.
- A message carved into an old oak's bark points to a buried chest under its roots.
