Marble Column, a stairs, pillars and structure 3D model for D&D battle maps

About this model

A slender white marble column with a square base and square capital, the shaft smooth and lightly veined. It is about 2 ft square in footprint and 7 ft tall, standing a little taller than a human and occupying part of one square.

Line a hall with pairs of these for a palace, a temple of a lawful god, a library or a bathhouse. In a fight each column breaks line of sight and gives cover to someone standing behind it, so a colonnade becomes a game of moving from pillar to pillar. Lights placed between them cast long shadows across the floor that make the space feel grand.

Ideas for the table

  • Assassins hide behind the columns of a throne room as the queen gives audience.
  • A columned bathhouse floods during a fight, and the party use the pillars to stay out of a water elemental's reach.
  • One column in a sealed temple is false, and turning its capital opens the reliquary.
