Gravestone, a stairs, pillars and structure 3D model for D&D battle maps

About this model

A rounded-top headstone of rough stone, heavily patched with yellow-green moss and lichen, standing on a broad base slab. It is about 2.5 ft wide, 1 ft deep and 3 ft tall, so it takes up part of a square and stands roughly waist high to a human.

Scatter it across churchyards, overgrown family plots and lonely hilltop burials. In a fight a gravestone is low but solid, a natural spot for a crouching archer or a halfling to duck behind. Rows of them break a cemetery into lanes and make charges awkward. Placed at odd angles, they suggest neglect and settling ground, which suits haunted scenes very well.

Ideas for the table

  • Zombies claw their way up between mossy headstones while the party searches for the one grave with fresh flowers.
  • A rogue must read the names on twenty gravestones by lantern light to find the vault entrance.
  • A ghost will only speak to whoever cleans the moss off her headstone first.
